What is your biggest challenge in business?

We are probably facing our biggest business challenge now.  Due to the current border closures, we have experienced some difficulties recruiting highly qualified and skilled people.  Despite priding ourselves on being an Employer of Choice, it has proven to be more challenging than expected to attract new employees in this very competitive environment.  However, this challenge has also become a great opportunity for us to reinforce our positive company culture by exploring other options, such as internal staff movements, or encouraging existing staff to enrol in training to upskill and advance their own professional development.

Summarise the Wanneroo Business Association in 3 words:

Advocate, Connect, Support.

Why are you a member of the WBA:

We became a WBA member to network and learn from other local small business owners. The closer to local businesses we are, the better we understand their challenges and expectations. By attending events and having access to the shared resources that WBA provides, we gain a good concept of general trends in terms of businesses and industries in Wanneroo and north of the river as well.

This is also an opportunity for Insight Advisory Group to assist local business owners and support our communities, by sharing our expertise and knowledge.

Finally, the WBA gives us more visibility and the opportunity to present our wide range of services to individuals and businesses that don’t know us yet.

Share your biggest win in business

One of our biggest achievements as a company is the success we have had with referrals.  Over the years we have been able to instigate and maintain these referrals by constantly demonstrating excellence in our approach in financial services and by building strong and ethical business relationships.  A large proportion of people that contact us and become new clients are referred by existing clients. Additionally, a lot of our clients start by trusting us to assist them with one area, and often end up trusting us to become their Family Office Financial Advisers, and deal with all their personal and professional financial needs.  Seeing the benefits, success and growth that our clients experience is a great reward for us, and proof that providing the best global financial services approach, in the most genuine and ethical way, delivers results.

What is your favourite thing about the WBA?

Our favourite thing about the WBA is the diversity and frequency of events and services that are offered to the small business owners to connect and exchange about their experiences and challenges, to find more inspiration and solutions within their own community, to be more successful business owners.

We always enjoy the quality of business speakers at the WBA events. Past speakers included Nigel Satterley and Dale Alcock, who are inspiring speakers and made a great impression on us.

Please share the name of any members you have built a business connection or relationship with:

Ewan McAllister and Nathan Bender (Aries Rail), Bill Meredith (Bill’s Machinery), Dawn Robinson (Seven West Media), Mike Cameron (Jarra Property), Paul Woodcock (Funday Entertainment), Mayor Tracey Roberts JP (City of Wanneroo) to name a few.
