Would you make a great WBA Board Member?

Contribute to Wanneroo Business Association’s (WBA) journey as we shape the future of our organisation to support our local business community, and add to your own personal development by nominating to become a Board Member.

The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) is a reputable not-for-profit organisation, with more than 20 years’ experience in supporting and representing businesses.  Founded by a passionate group of people in 1999, the WBA is now recognised as the premier business association North of the River, with an ever-growing and active community of over 450 members, from across 93 suburbs in Perth.

As an incorporated Association, the WBA falls under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015, and operates with a Committee of Management structure.  Our Commitee of Management is made up of representatives from WBA members, which we refer to as Board Members.

The WBA is currently seeking energetic, community minded and committed individuals to nominate for the Committee of Management, ahead of our Annual General Meeting (AGM), in July 2022.  Work closely with a dedicated and diverse voluntary team, and the WBA staff, to generate ideas and drive initiatives, advocate for the organisation and be the face at our events. 

Elected in by fellow members, to be eligible for nomination, you must work for, or own, a business that is a financial member of the WBA, and the term is two years.

If you have any of the following interests, skills or experience, you would be a great addition to our team and we would encourage you to nominate:

Essential:

• Experience running your own business or management experience within a business
• An understanding of the challenges local businesses face
• Strong network within the local business community
• A passion for supporting local businesses
• Time to attend WBA events and bi-monthly board meetings, as well as additional Sub-Committee meetings as and when required

Desirable:

• Accounting
• Financial reporting
• Budgeting
• Strategic Planning
• Governance and legal
