Let's Clear Things Up
Answers to Common Questions About Joining, Events, and Getting Involved
Whether you're new to the WBA or just curious about how things work, we’ve got you covered. This page answers the most common questions we get about membership, events, benefits, and how to make the most of being part of our local business community.
How much is membership and what does it include?
You can join the WBA for just $45 a month - with no lock-in contracts or hidden fees. Prefer to pay annually? It’s $495 for the full year. Both options include GST and can be claimed on your tax return.
Your membership gives you access to regular networking events, training workshops, local promotion, business support, and a welcoming community that’s here to help you grow.

My business isn't based in the City of Wanneroo, and I don't live there either, can I still join?
Absolutely! While we’re proudly based in the City of Wanneroo, our community includes members across more than 80 suburbs in Perth and growing.
We welcome businesses from all locations who want to connect, grow, and be part of a supportive local network.

I'm not a member, can I come along to a WBA event?
Of course! We love welcoming new faces. If you haven’t been before, you’re invited to attend one of our Coffee Catch Ups, Sundowners, Sunrisers or Workshops - completely free.
Just head to Events & Workshops, choose an event that suits you, and register - we’ll honour your first-time free pass.
It’s the perfect way to experience the WBA vibe and see if our friendly, supportive business community is the right fit for you. Prefer to attend casually? You're also welcome to pay per event.
Is membership just for me, or can my team use it?
Even though your membership is in your name, WBA membership is linked to your business and is all about representing your business.
That means any of your team members can attend events or get involved if you don't have the availability - as long as they’re there on behalf of your business. There’s no extra cost, and it’s a great way to share the benefits across your team.
I need to change my membership payment details, what can I do?
You can update your payment details anytime by logging into the Members Area on our website. Prefer to speak to someone? Give us a call on (08) 9206 3888 and we’ll update them for you.
If you need to update your contact details or business info, feel free to email us or update them through your member profile online.
What sponsorship options are available?
We offer several ways for you to boost your brand and connect with our business community. Our most popular option is the Business in the Spotlight campaign - where your business features across all WBA events and communications for an entire month. We also have sponsorship opportunities for major events like our Business Awards, Business Expo, and special workshops throughout the year.
Want to explore what’s possible? Visit our Promotion page or call us on (08) 9206 3888 for a chat.
Where can I find details of your members?
Easy! Just head to our Directory to browse all our current local businesses. You can search by keyword, industry or business name or even area - making it simple to connect, collaborate, or support fellow members.
Already a member? You can log into the Members Area on our website to update your own listing anytime - keeping your details current and your business visible.
I’d love to host an event with the WBA, how can I go about it?
We’d love to hear from you! Hosting a WBA event is a great way to showcase your business and connect with our network. Just give us a call on (08) 9206 3888 to start the conversation. Our events are in high demand, so the sooner you get in touch, the better - we often have a wait list. Or check out the other opportunities available on the Promotion page.
Are you connected with the City of Wanneroo?
Yes, kind of - we proudly partner with the City of Wanneroo, who are a major sponsor of the WBA. While we work closely together to support the local business community, the WBA remains an independent, not-for-profit organisation. We’re funded through membership, sponsorship, and event income, allowing us to advocate for and support businesses across the region with flexibility and focus.
Who runs the WBA?
You do!
As a member-driven, not-for-profit organisation, the WBA is led by a volunteer Board of Management made up of fellow members - business owners and professionals just like you. They set our strategic direction and ensure we’re focused on what matters most to our community.
Our dedicated staff team takes care of the day-to-day operations, but it’s our members who shape the WBA through involvement, feedback, and participation.
