From the President’s Desk: Strategic Planning for the Future

As we look to the future of Wanneroo Business Association, I want to take a moment to highlight the tremendous amount of time and effort our board has put into shaping our new Strategic Plan. This wasn’t just a quick meeting or a few hours of discussion; it was a thorough and collaborative process that involved careful strategic planning, deep analysis, and a clear vision for where we want to go. Our board, including the new members who have recently joined us, have worked tirelessly to create and implement a roadmap that will guide us for the next 3 years.

Our vision is straightforward yet powerful: to continue fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and supporting growth among our members. With this vision in mind, we’ve zeroed in on 7 key areas that will be our focus.

Key Focus areas

1. Member Engagement: We are committed to ensuring that the value we offer is not only clear but continually growing. Our goal is for every member to feel that being part of the WBA is essential to their success.

2. Attracting New Businesses: We’re on a mission to grow our membership by offering a compelling value proposition that brings new businesses into our community. The more diverse our membership, the stronger we all become.

3. Boosting Brand Visibility: Our marketing team, alongside our new board members, is developing a robust strategy to keep the WBA top of mind as the go-to business support and networking organisation in the region. Expect to see our name everywhere!

4. Ensuring Financial Stability: Strong financial performance is critical for every business to achieving goals. We’re focusing on versatile revenue growth and productivity improvements to keep us on a solid financial footing.

5. Technology Integration: We’re embracing the latest technology to enhance both our customer experience and internal operations. This means smoother, more efficient interactions with the WBA, making life easier for everyone involved.

6. Strengthening Governance and Leadership: With the new team and enhanced processes in place, we’re ensuring that our operations run smoothly from the board level down. This strong leadership structure is key to our continued success.

7. Networking and Collaboration: We remain dedicated to being the hub where businesses come together to share ideas, build partnerships, and drive the local economy forward. Our networking opportunities will continue to expand and evolve.

 —————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

To ensure that we achieve these goals, we’ve assigned a dedicated team for each focus area, responsible for implementing the strategic plan, staying on track, and reporting back to the larger board regularly for feedback and accountability.

This structure allows us to stay focused, adapt quickly as needed, and also measure our progress effectively. The commitment and hard work of our board members and volunteer sub-committee members are the driving force behind this plan, and I’m confident that their efforts will lead us to continued success.

We are looking forward to sharing further details at our upcoming Member Forum in October. Stay tuned for more details on this event, and make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the WBA. We will be asking for your input!
