Returning for their 14th year, the City of Wanneroo Business Awards 2016, organised by Wanneroo Business Association, took place on Friday 18 November and saw 160 people gather to celebrate and acknowledge business achievements from across the region.

Guests were entertained by PROOF, a six piece live band, to celebrate the leading lights in the local business community and acknowledge the outstanding performance and successes achieved.
Creative Catering served a round-table, three course, banquet style dinner and the event moved away from Bridgeleigh Reception Centre for the first time ever, to be hosted at Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.
Each year the City of Wanneroo Mayor selects the winner of the 'Mayor's Visionary Business Person' to acknowledge an individual who has shown commitment to local business and community.
The 2016 Mayor's Visionary Winner was Sue Dash, owner of Chocolate Drops. An icon for tourism, Sue completed the China Ready & Accredited Program. She is a driver of the Yanchep/Two Rocks Tourism Network and the Capricorn Enterprise Centre, and after recovering from cancer, went on to establish the Two Rocks Yanchep Assisted Cancer Travels to organise transport for cancer patients.
