Hi I’m Lauren Bell, the General Manager at Wanneroo Business Association – WBA
I can normally be found catching up with members or meeting new businesses in the area to tell them about the WBA, l’m also part of the furniture when it comes to our events too!
I started with the WBA in 2014 when I arrived in Perth from Manchester, England, but it’s not just me that’s come such a long way. During this time, the WBA has seen membership more than double, the sense of community and peer support amongst members has never been stronger and I am constantly surprised by the sheer variety of businesses I meet on a daily basis. It has been a delighted to build the WBA brand in to what it is today.
I have a BA Hons in Management from the University of Manchester and previous experience working in Sales, with the largest Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK, before I made the move to WA.
The highlight of my year is usually the Business Awards, where we get to celebrate with the businesses in our community and everyone dances the night away, it’s awesome to see this event come together. I also enjoy being creative and thinking of new ideas to implement on a day to day basis to improve the experience for our members and help them connect with each other.
An interesting fact that you may not know is that I have broken a Guinness World Record for the longest ever netball game. In a team at college, we played for a total of 55 hours and 20 minutes non-stop….but as this was in 2007 it has now since been broken!!
