Nominations Now Open – Join the WBA Committee of Management

The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) is a not-for-profit organisation currently seeking enthusiastic, community-minded, and committed individuals to nominate for a two-year term (2025–2027) on our Committee of Management.

This is a volunteer role that offers a unique opportunity to give back to your local business community. As part of our Committee of Management, you’ll play a vital part in shaping the direction of the WBA, working alongside staff and fellow board members to support initiatives, advocate for local businesses, and represent the Association at events.

Three positions are up for election ahead of our Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on Thursday, 24 July 2025. The following Committee of Management members are continuing their term and are not up for re-election this year:

  • Andy Kahle, AndyK Designs - President
  • Niamh Campbell, First Class Accounts Wanneroo - Vice President 
  • Agatha da Fonseca, Execute Marketing - Committee of Management Member
  • Greg Hebble, Wheelchairs for Kids Australia - Committee of Management Member
  • Erika Williams, My Practice Success Partner - Committee of Management Member
  • Steven Windsor, Pascoe Partners Accountants - Committee of Management Member
  • Kayla Vukancic, HR Dept - Northern Suburbs - Committee of Management Member

Nominations close strictly at 4pm, Thursday 26 June 2025.

Qualities we’re looking for:

  • Willing to commit time to meetings, events, sub-committees and other tasks. Typically, 5-7 hours per month (excluding event attendance).
    • Committee of Management meetings are held every second month and run for 2–2.5 hours.
    • We recommend each Committee of Management member joins a WBA sub-committee.
  • Strategic thinking and long-term planning capability
  • A community-minded attitude
  • Collaborative and reliable team players
  • Experience in business, governance, finance, law, or other relevant areas are desirable but not needed.

Please note:

  • Nominees must be current financial members of the WBA.
  • A police clearance is required upon election.

Important Dates:

  • Meet the Nominees Event: Tuesday, 8 July 2025 - 9.30am (more details below) 
  • Annual General Meeting: Thursday, 24 July 2025 - 5.00pm
  • Committee of Management Induction: Tuesday, 29 July 2025
  • First Committee of Management Meeting: Friday, 8 August 2025
    • Meetings are held on the second Friday of every second month at 7:30am.

 

What’s the process?
Once nominations close on Thursday, 26 June, all nominees will be announced in the days following.

  • If nominations exceed the number of available positions, members will vote at the AGM on Thursday, 24 July 2025.
  • If nominations do not exceed the number of available positions, nominees will be automatically elected. Any remaining vacancies will be opened for nomination and election at the AGM.

 

Meet the Nominees Event

On Tuesday, 8 July at 9:30am the WBA will be hosting our Meet the Nominees event. Each nominee will have 3 minutes to introduce themselves, their business, and share their reasons for nominating. This will be followed by a Q&A session with attendees.
