Following our recent Sundowner at Dordaak Kepup, the WBA caught up with Brandyn Finau from the City of Wanneroo Youth Services team to learn more about the exciting youth programs being delivered at the facility and the ways local businesses can engage with this innovative community space. Dordaak Kepup – Library and Youth Innovation Hub, located in Landsdale, officially opened in December 2025 and is already becoming a vibrant hub for young people aged 11 to 25. The Youth Innovation Hub provides access to industry-standard equipment, creative spaces, and a welcoming environment where young people can explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with others. Open three afternoons a week, the youth programs utilise a variety of purpose-built spaces, including: • Ni Kadadjiny – Music and podcast studio Brandyn explains that Dordaak Kepup offers young people the opportunity to experiment, create and build confidence in a supportive setting. "Dordaak Kepup is a facility where young people can come and try new things or hone their craft by accessing equipment and resources they may otherwise not have. We also have the opportunity to bring in industry experts to run targeted workshops and help young people develop skills that support their future goals." There are also opportunities for local businesses to get involved. Many of the spaces within the facility are available for hire, making them suitable for team meetings, training sessions, content creation, or even hosting workshops where businesses can share their expertise and give back to the community. "For some young people, Dordaak Kepup is more than just a workspace. It’s a safe and supportive environment where they can be their authentic self, socialise with peers, and access support when navigating life’s bigger challenges and important moments."
