Community Bank Kingsway once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting local community initiatives, awarding $81,400 in funding to 14 not-for-profit organisations and community groups at its annual Pitch Night Sundowner, held at the Olympic Kingsway Sports Club. The event brought together community leaders, local businesses, volunteers and residents to celebrate grassroots projects that make a meaningful difference across the region.

The highlight of the evening was a series of live pitches from community organisations seeking support for projects that enhance education, sport, inclusion, youth development and community wellbeing. Following an engaging and inspiring program, funding was awarded to a diverse range of initiatives including school improvements, sporting equipment upgrades, community events, inclusive programs for children and families, environmental education projects and support for vulnerable members of the community.

Funding was awarded to a diverse range of community organisations, schools, sporting clubs and not-for-profit groups delivering projects that enhance education, recreation, inclusion and community wellbeing. Supported initiatives include school and playground improvements, community events, youth development programs, sporting equipment and facility upgrades, environmental education projects, and activities that promote participation and connection across all age groups.

Several projects will improve access to sport and recreation through upgraded equipment, training resources and facility enhancements, while others will support children, young people and families through educational programs, play-based learning opportunities and inclusive community activities. Funding was also provided to initiatives that support vulnerable members of the community, create opportunities for people with disability, strengthen volunteer-led organisations, and deliver environmental and sustainability-focused learning experiences.

Collectively, the projects will contribute to stronger community connections, improved local facilities and increased opportunities for residents to participate in activities that support health, wellbeing, learning and social inclusion.

Community Bank Kingsway Chairperson Beverly Errington said the Pitch Night continues to highlight the important role community organisations play in creating positive local outcomes.

“Pitch Night is one of the most rewarding events on our calendar. It provides an opportunity to hear directly from the passionate volunteers and community leaders who are delivering valuable programs and services across our region. We are proud to support these projects and help bring their ideas to life.”

Since opening its doors, Community Bank Kingsway has returned more than $900,000 to local community groups and initiatives through grants, sponsorships and community investment programs. The annual Pitch Night remains a cornerstone event, reinforcing the bank's commitment to investing in projects that strengthen community participation, wellbeing and local connections.
